Split the birds down back. Combine the sausage, onion and crumbs; shape into 12 balls. Stuff each bird with sausage ball; press to close. Place the birds, breast down in baking dish; cover with wine and water. Cover tightly and bake at 350ºF. for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tender. Serve on toasted muffin halves; cover with pan juices. Garnish with parsley or watercress sprigs. Makes 6 servings |
