Three Alarm Chili
4 tablespoons of vegetable oil 2 pounds of stewing beef, cut into 1/2 inch cubes 3 medium onions, diced 4 cloves garlic, minced One 28 ounce can of whole tomatoes One 16 ounce can of tomato sauce 1 cup of water 3 tablespoons of brown sugar 1 teaspoon of oregano 3 tablespoons of chili powder 2 teaspoons of salt 1/4 teaspoon of dried crushed red pepper (optional) Two 16 ounce cans of kidney beans, drained 1 large green pepper, diced 1 large sweet red pepper, diced |

Heat oil in Dutch oven; brown beef on all sides, then remove and drain well on paper towels. Cook onions and garlic in oil; return meat to pan. Add the tomatoes, sauce, water, sugar, oregano, chili powder, salt and crushed red pepper. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat; simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add the remaining three ingredients.
