Sausages with Fried Apples
1 pound of sausages 4 to 5 slices of bacon 6 to 8 red apples brown sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon |
Instructions: Fry the sausages slowly until done and set it aside where they will keep hot. Dice the bacon and cook it lightly, not crisp in another large skillet. Core the apples and dice them, to include the skins. Add to the bacon, sweetening the apples to taste with brown sugar and stirring in the cinnamon. Cover and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Remove the cover and brown the apples, turning them constantly to prevent sticking for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve on a hot platter, surrounded by the hot sausages. |
