| Cucumber Salad 3 to 4 cucumbers 1 tablespoon of sugar 1/4 cup of wine vinegar salt and fresh ground pepper to taste 3 to 4 tomatoes basil |
Instructions: Peel the cucumbers, and slice them very thin. Put them in a shallow bowl and sprinkle the sugar over them, then the vinegar. Let them stand for 1/2 hour or more. Season with salt and fresh ground black pepper. Cut the tomatoes into wedges, put them around the cucumbers and sprinkle a little basil over the tomatoes. Serve very cold. |
