
| Strawberry Pita
Dough:
1 stick softened butter 1 1/2 cup of flour 2 egg yolks 2 tablespoons of sugar
Meringue:
6 egg whites, beaten stiff 1 1/4 cup of sugar 1 1/2 cup of drained sweetened sliced strawberries |

Cream the butter with sugar and yolks. Gradually add remaining ingredients and mix well. Roll out to fit greased 13"x9" pan (small jelly roll pan will do also). Bake at 350ºF. for 15 minutes. Put meringue mixture on top and return to oven until meringue is dry, about 1/2 hour. Cut with long knife dipped in hot water. |
