Arkansas Brown Rice

1 cup of brown rice 2 1/2 cups of water 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon of butter or oil |
| -= Instructions =- Wash rice by rinsing in a pan of cool water, pick out floating particles and any unhulled grains. Combine ingredients in saucepan with tight-fitting cover. Bring rice to a boil over high heat; stir once or twice; cover. Reduce heat and simmer 45-50 minutes until rice is tender and water absorbed.
