Louisiana Hot Chicken Wings

2 cups ( 4 sticks) of butter
6 tablespoons of hot sauce
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons of hot pepper sauce
2 teaspoons of dried oregano, crumbled
1 teaspoon of dried basil, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon of dried marjoram, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon of dried rosemary, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme, crumbled
24 chicken wings, cut in half at joint

Melt the butter in a heavy medium saucepan. Add the remaining ingredients, except the chicken and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Preheat your oven to 400ºF. Arrange the chicken wings in an ovenproof glass baking dish. Brush generously with sauce. Bake for 15 minutes. Brush generously with sauce. Continue baking until crisp, 15 to 20 minutes. Reheat sauce. Serve the chicken wings immediately, passing the remaining sauce separately. Makes 6 to 8 servings
