Baked Chicken Curry 

one 3 to 3 1/2 pound frying chicken
1/4 cup of flour
1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon of curry powder
1/2 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate
3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
one 1 pound 14 ounce can of fruit cocktail
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon of curry
2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
1/4 cup of coconut
2 tablespoons of chopped onion


Cut the chicken into serving pieces. Mix the flour, garlic salt, curry powder and monosodium glutamate in a brown paper or plastic bag and shake the chicken in seasoned flour. Melt the butter in a large skillet. add the chicken and cook until brown. Drain the fruit cocktail and place in casserole. Sprinkle with brown sugar and curry. Pour the melted butter over fruit cocktail. Place the chicken in a baking dish and place in the oven. Place the curried fruit in the oven. Bake at 350ºF.  for 45 minutes. Remove cover from fruit and stir in the coconut and onion gently. Pour over the chicken and serve. Makes 4 servings
