1 9" pie crust 1/2 cup of sugar 3 tablespoons of flour 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon 5 cups of sliced pared tart apples (about 5 med.) |

Crumb Topping
1 cup of flour 1/2 cup of firm butter or margarine 1/2 cup of brown sugar
Crumb Topping: Mix all topping ingredients until crumbly. Filling: Preheat oven to 425ºF. Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir in apples. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate. Crumble the crumb topping on top of apple mixture. Bake 50 minutes. Cover topping with aluminum foil during last 10 minutes. Best served warm. |
