Place butter in a 3 quart casserole dish. Microwave on high for 30 to 60 seconds, or until melted. Blend in the flour and onion flakes. Add the evaporated milk and milk one third at a time, blending after each addition. Microwave at high for 5 to 7 minutes or until hot, bubbly and thickened stirring after the first 2 minutes, and then after each minute. Stir in cheese until it melts and the mixture is smooth. Blend in the beer. Microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes or until desired serving temperature. Garnish individual servings with popcorn or pretzels, if desired. Makes 6 servings |
