Jewish Cheese Bread

1 tablespoon of margarine
1 cup of onion, chopped
1 1/2 cup of flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of margarine
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
1 cup of cheese, grated
Poppy seeds

Sauté onion in 1 tablespoon margarine. Mix dry ingredients together. Add margarine, egg, milk, cheese and onion. Pat into large scone shape and bake in greased pie pan. Brush with melted margarine and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake at 400ºF. for 20 to 25 minutes.
