| Broccoli Rabe with Red Pepper Oil 1 1/2 pounds of broccoli rabe, thick stem ends trimmed 2 tablespoons of olive oil 1/4 teaspoon of crushed hot red pepper to taste Bring a large saucepan filled with water to a boil. Add the broccoli rabe and return to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes or until almost tender. Drain. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, combine the olive oil and hot pepper. Heat over medium low heat, stirring until the oil is warmed and the pepper flakes sizzle, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the drained broccoli rabe to the hot oil and toss to coat. Serve at once.
