| | Santa's Whiskers 3/4 cup of margarine or butter
2 cups of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla
3/4 cup of finely chopped candied red or green cherries
1/3 cup of finely chopped pecans
3/4 cup of coconut |

Beat the margarine with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, the sugar, milk, vanilla. Beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in remaining flour. Stir in the cherries and pecans. Shape into two 8 inch rolls. Roll in coconut. wrap in waxed paper, chill for 2 to 24 hours. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375ºF. oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden. Cool the cookies on a wire rack. Makes about 60 The coconut on the edges forms the whiskers! |
