Toasted Pecan Chocolate Chips

1 cup of butter, softened
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of lightly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of chocolate chips
2 cups of toasted pecans

Place the pecans in a non stick frying pan over medium heat and toast until you can smell a light aroma.  Cream the butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in oven at 375ºF. for 10 minutes. Cool pan on a rack for a few minutes before removing cookies. Store in airtight container. Makes 5 -6 dozen cookies
