

| Caramel Apples
Caramel apples are delicious and so much fun to make! Get crafty and creative by adding faces to your caramel apples! Make some for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or anytime at all! You'll need an adult's help with this one, the caramel gets hot. Please note: As is the case with any recipe, results can vary for a variety of reasons, including humidity, cooking conditions and other factors. Please be sure to try this recipe before attempting it in a group or time-crucial situation. |

4 large red apples 1 bag of caramels 1 tablespoon of milk Sprinkles, candy, chocolate chips, nuts or other toppings Craft sticks or lollipop sticks Spoon Microwave-safe bowl. Non-stick cookie sheet or cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Optional: cellophane and ribbon. Remove stems from apples. Put a craft stick or a lollipop stick into each apple. caramels. Put caramels into bowl with milk. Microwave on high for 2-4 minutes, stirring every minute. Watch closely. When the caramels are melted, stop. Hold apples by the stick, and gently dip them into the caramel. Swirl around until completely covered. Hold apple over a plate or bowl. While caramel is still warm and soft, sprinkle with sprinkles, nuts, chocolate chips, etc. until covered. Place apple on cookie sheet, stick up. Repeat for the other three apples. Place apples in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes or until caramel has hardened. Eat or wrap with cellophane and tie with a ribbon to give as gifts or to serve at a party! |
