2 tablespoons of butter 2 cups of sugar 1 cup of white corn syrup 1/2 cup of water 2 teaspoons of baking soda 1 1/2 cup of macadamia nuts, chopped |

With 1 tablespoon of butter, grease baking sheet or marble slab. Combine sugar, corn syrup, water and cook slowly until syrup reaches hard crack stage, 300ºF. (Test: syrup forms brittle thread when dropped in cold water.) Remove from heat. Stir in remaining butter, soda, and nuts. Mix until blended. Pour a thin layer of candy on greased baking sheet. When candy is cold, break into pieces. |
