AUSTRIAN NUT BUTTER COOKIES
1 cup of flour
1/3 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of finely chopped almonds
1/2 cup of butter (softened)
Chocolate butter frosting
Almond halves |

Combine the flour and sugar; add nuts and mix. Blend in butter with fork
until dough clings together. Chill for ease in handling. Roll dough to 1/8
inch thickness. Cut into 1 1/2 inch circles with floured cutter. Place on
greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375ºF. for
7 to 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Make into sandwiches by spreading
a thin layer of jam between two cookies. Ice with chocolate butter frosting
and top with an almond half.
