| French Beans in Cream Sauce Gruene Fisolen 1 pound of French beans 1 small onion 1 heaping tablespoon of chopped fresh dill 1 heaping tablespoon of butter juice of 1/2 lemon 1/8 pint of sour cream Salt to taste Pepper to taste Sugar |

String the beans, wash and cut into inch pieces. Place into one cup of boiling salted water, cover with a lid and cook until tender. Chop the onion and fry lightly in the butter together with the chopped dill. Sprinkle with flour and gradually add the water in which the beans were cooked together with a little more water or stock to make a thick sauce. Add the sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Add the beans and lemon juice and adjust the seasonings. Just before serving stir in the sour cream. Heat but do not boil. |
