1 cup of softened butter (2 sticks) 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar 2 tablespoon of vanilla 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1 cup of walnuts, chopped fine 1 3/4 cup of sifted all-purpose flour |

Cream the butter; add 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla and salt. Beat until light. Stir in nuts and flour until well blended. Wrap dough in wax paper and chill. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Divide dough into 8 pieces on floured board and shape into rolls 1/2 inch in diameter; cut in 2 pieces and taper off ends - shape in crescents. Put on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 18 to 20 minutes at 325ºF. Remove to cool on wire rack. Sift confectioners' sugar on top. Makes 5 dozen. |
