
| OATMEAL RAISIN SCONES
2 cups of flour 3 tablespoons of brown sugar 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/2 cups of butter, chilled 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal 1/2 cups of raisins 1 cups of buttermilk Cinnamon & sugar for sprinkling |

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in oatmeal and raisins. Add buttermilk and mix with a fork until dough forms a ball. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead 6 to 8 minutes. Pat dough into 1/2 inch thickness. Cut 8 to 10 rounds or wedges and place them on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. |
