
| British Flapjacks
3/4 cup of butter or margarine, melted 3/4 cup of sugar 1/4 cup of honey 1 large egg 4 cups of regular rolled oats 1 cup of coarsely chopped hazelnuts 1/2 cup of raisins |

In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, honey, egg, oats, nuts and raisins. Pat mixture firmly into a buttered and floured 9-inch square pan. Bake in a 300ºF.oven until deep golden, 50-55 minutes. Cut into 16 pieces, then let cool in pan. Redo cuts and remove from pan with a spatula. Serve or store airtight up to 5 days; freeze to store longer. Makes 16. |
